Waterfall Hikes in our National Forests today!

 

 Another day of gorgeous scenery, and lots of other families out enjoying the outdoors in NE Georgia.

Early morning Fishing on Lake Chatuge, Hiawassee, Georgia

 Got up before the sun and left the dock at 5:30am. Marvelous sunrise, mist covered water and mountains and oh yes, fish. Perch, Hybrid Bass ( white bass and strippers) and Spotted bass. Guess what’s for dinner?

Mountains, Mountains and More - Northeast Georgia

 We arrived at the Mountain View Campground yesterday and are spending a week here, enjoying all the area has to offer. The views are amazing, the campground is very nice and we are quite happy exploring new places. Today we drove through the closest town of Hiawassee and then ventured up to the Brasstown Resort and Spa and Golf course ( john made a tee time for Thursday! ) Then we drove over to the highest spot in Georgia, called Brasstown Bald National Forest observation tower.  After a short but steep climb we enjoyed amazing vistas! Weather is warm and surroundings are wonderful.

2021 Summer Adventure has begun! Hallelujah......

 We closed up our beloved fish camphome in Matlacha and have begun a wonderful summer adventure.

First stop at the Florida, Georgia Stateline in a KOA. Tomorrow we go to Hiawassee, Georgia for some mountains and new surroundings as we edge closer to the Great Smokies.
