Time flies!Its almost Labor Day.

 Well it’s 26 August and we’ve had a lot of fun this summer . 1st of all George and Melissa did buy an amazing lot with 20 acres of woods between Charlottesville  and Richmond, VA.

We spent 6 weeks in Western New York. Lots of gardening and canning of pickles and beets and eating Swiss chard. Got out on Lake Erie 3 times with John’s brother Paul and caught and ate some Bass. John enjoyed lots of golf on various courses. We enjoyed camping with John’s brother Sam and Fatima in Hammondsport, NY and also camping in and enjoyed Letchworth Statepark. We even got to rendezvous with Margie and Ralph in Batavia, Ny while visiting cousins! We also went into Hamilton, Canada for a wonderful visit with my 97 year old Aunt Adair, cousin Lauren and her son Alec. What a treat.

  

Then we headed west along Intestate 80. lots of corn fields in Ohio, Iowa and Indiana and some in Nebraska. It is indeed the Heartland. After 5 days we arrived at our dear friend Gina Lee’s house between Laramie and .Cheyenne, WY. We will enjoy a week on the prairie!

Greenville, Boone, North Carolina and Woodbridge for the 4th of July

 Spent time with friends in Greenville, then a week in the mountains in Boone, NC. Lots of beautiful drives along the blue ridge parkway and many backroads as well….enjoyed the cooler temperatures at 4000 ft elevation! Enjoying staying with George and Melissa again before we head out and up north thru PA to Johns family area in Lackawanna and Springville NY. Expect to garden, fish, golf and spend quality with Johns family members for 4-6 weeks. We got to walk a lot that George and Melissa put an offer in on in the mountains to hopefully fulfill a long time dream of theirs to build a home in the country! Fingers crossed…..

On the road again…..2024

 Left Matlacha the end of May, heading to Greenville, SC and then visiting our son and daughter-in-law in Woodbridge, VA and daughter and son-in-law in Durham, NC.

Loving our motorhome and Jeep. We plan to head north to NY for July and August then over to Cheyenne, WY and then Grand Junction, Colorado and Moab areas in mid September and October.

Travels this year are very casual and flexible with just a few reservations in advance…..

And the adventure continues…….

Heading west…..l Pinedale, Wyoming, New York, Kentucky and Tennessee!
