Majestic Redwood Groves in Humboldt County, Northern California

We drove and walked through ancient forests with trees over 350 ft. tall - The Rockefeller Grove was my favorite. The entire Avenue of the Giants was well laid out, and amazingly accessible to all. One of the most beautiful 32 mile drives We have ever taken, to date.

Tough logistics on the tires.  They had to be shipped to Gualala
Sounds simple?  Not really
The roads getting into and out of the Mendocino coast are very challenging
If you are thinking of rv-ing on the coast take care

It was hard to find someone to install the tires we ended up getting it done in Ft Bragg


On the other hand
It was really great camping in anchor bay
Maybe the coolest camping spot ever

Wifi in campgrounds is spotty at best. I'm sure kim will get some photos up asap

As you can see from Kim's photos it's really scenic here on the north coast of California

Kim's reunion with Susan was great and we've had a blast camping on the beach.  
We've put about 3500 hundred miles on the truck to get here
Next we're off to see some more coastline and redwood trees

From here on out we're going to be slowing down and seeing the sights.

Words cannot describe the joy in being with my dear school friend and her husband ! And to top it off, we are enjoying incredibly breathtaking scenery along the Pacific Coast Highway in this remote area north of S.F and south of Santa Rosa. We can hear and see the surf from our trailer. Susie and Tony's nursery and home are magical with expansive vines, flowers, fruit trees, herbs, vegetables, berries and redwoods! It is heavenly but oh, those narrow winding roads!

Las Vegas to Reno

Beautiful green mountains in Reno area and great campground
Much appreciated after a long day of driving thru miles of desert and then coming into cool Reno.
