Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota week…….

It has been a wonderful week, albeit one with colds! Discovered how wonderful Walleye is, what ( local specialty from upper Wisconsin/Michigan)- hand thatched wild rice tastes like with maple syrup and milk ( soooo heavenly). Enjoyed a very special time and wonderful meals  with old colleagues from Germany days in Webster, Wisconsin, glimpsing the Northern Woods from a local, home boy perspective. And the lakes, everywhere!!! Do want to return, but only IN SUMMER. Then over into Minnesota, staying in Bemidji. Each state has its own flavor and charm. Crossed the Mississippi River and now as John says, we are in the West! Friendly, hearty wonderful people here with a strong Tribal sense of Identity and history. Staying in Bismarck, ND on our way to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park for a few days of adventuring. It’s been warm overall but as I write a big hail strong is upon us…..What an amazing Country we live in! Love this area.
